RESEARCHING YOUR FAMILY. TELLING YOUR STORY. 2.
A Genealogy Workshop to Help You Research and Discover Your Ancestors and Their Stories
Saturday, February 28, 2026, 9 AM – Noon. Kukua Institute. 300 North Reus Street. Pensacola, FL 32501. Doors open at 8:30 AM for networking and continental breakfast.
You’re invited to join us for an exciting, informational, and interactive workshop to discover your ancestors and uncover the stories that made their lives worth sharing. In this free, three-hour, in-person workshop, we will focus on genealogy, photograph identification, and military research. And you’ll learn some methods, tips, and resources used by genealogists, historians, archivists, and storytellers to document the facts and fiction that weave the pieces of our ancestral lives together and make them interesting.
Our presenters include Teniade Broughton, archivist and historian; Dr. John Veasley, a member and past vice-president of the West Florida Genealogical Society; Mark Hopkins, photographer and retired graphic design professor; and Hill Goodspeed, military historian and deputy director of the National Museum of Naval Aviation.
Brian Wyer of the Gulf Coast Minority Chamber of Commerce and Robin Reshard of the Kukua Institute are the co-hosts.
We highly encourage you to bring a laptop or tablet. This way, you will be able to save your research and files for later use. A limited number of laptops will be made available for use during the workshop.
Registration is required and is limited to 35 participants at this Registration Link.
The day will start with a name. We hope it will end with your story.
